I had selected adverts from Art Forum magazine which represented the International Art Gallery System. In a one day installation process, I randomly selected adverts and 2-dimensionally folded these guided by the textual and shape register. I then placed these on drafting vellum pinned upon vertically fixed extruded polystyrene insulation product and pulled the 2-dimensional fold into a 3-dimensional shape, pinning with a nail set to fix to both surfaces. Art Forum in format is square and utilizing the neutrality of this geometric aided by the juxtaposition of typography and graphic design the resulting unique 3-dimensional forms exercise a contradictory 2-dimensional/3-dimensional fluctuation.
